***Author's Note: This is a dark romance novel with mature themes that might make some readers uncomfortable.***

Have you ever watched Dexter? Do you like it? If you do, dig in!

Kat is a shy girl, working on a library, while trying to finish her studies. One day, trying to prove her best-friend wrong, she kisses a man she has never seen before in an elevator. Her daring of moment, may prove more reckless than she has ever dreamed about.
"This wasn't what I'd signed up for. Nancy Drew had walked into the last chapter of a Stephen King novel, and she was getting the hell out of there."
"I wanted a hero who would push me to the edge of insanity, a man who would make me feel."

Gav is a rich guy that seems harmless enough. In fact, he looks like prince charming, but looks can be deceiving. Gav is definitely nobody's hero.
"Sometimes the world makes itself just right. The wind blows a certain way. People walk with puppet strings attached to their limbs, and I feel like the puppet master."
" A character in a book might live forever, as long as there was someone there to read him and remember him."

His is a fast-paced thriller, with multi-dimensional characters that made this book into an amazing emotional roller-coaster. Both main characters, are complicated, deep and twisted. Each with their own issues and each finding what they were not looking for.

Ms. Dark is a great storyteller. She has created a very cohesive plot, with a few sub-plots and several twists along the way. This book is very original and as crazy as it may sound, everything feels very real and believable.  I will definitely be on the look out for more from this new side of Ms. Rose.

I don't know what it says about me as a reader, but I've only found His mildly dark, surely not as dark as I was expecting. Nonetheless, this book has what every good dark novel should have: characters and actions, that even though are totally outside of the "normal" standards of moral beliefs, have the reader blurring the lines of good and bad, right and wrong and enjoying it.

You may read this book, because you enjoy a dark romance; you should read this book, because you like to be surprised; you MUST read this book if you are not afraid of being punched in the face and liking it!

"The silence between us was so intimate. I wanted to lean forward and kiss him, hug him, pull him into my arms and tell him that it would be alright. But there was nothing that would be alright, not with him. Not with me."
"I wanted to turn her flesh red and make her scream. But I wanted to please her at the same time. I wanted to plunge myself into her. I wanted to shatter her and put her back together."

"There was something about gardens, and especially flowers, that drew magic users to them even if their magic had nothing to do with plants. (...) It was like being wrapped in a cocoon of life, suffused with a simple happiness of existing."

Nevada Baylor is P.I, in a family-own small business, and suddenly is forced to work at the most dangerous case of the city. She enters a world where she is not certain who is friend, who is foe; where secrets have hidden meanings; and everybody is being used by somebody else. She only wants to save her family, but to do that she will have to risk everything.

Mad Rogan is one of the most powerful men of his time. Apparently he has no ties to anyone, however he  surprises everybody when he decides to help out his cousin. What he doesn't know is that by helping his family, he may encounter the only thing that could break his facade. A power bigger than his, bigger than life... love.

" That was no hint of submission anywhere in his body. He walked like he didn't know his spine could bend."

Burn for me is a fast-paced thriller that has the reader hooked from the first page, and unable to let it go, even after the book has ended. It's world is so well built that leaves the reader shocked of how creative the authors can be. There is no weakness in this book, and even though it prepares for the second book, it has a perfectly cohesively, shocking, ending.

Ilona Andrews are "the real deal". Their characters are the perfect balance of good and evil, strong and weak, serious and joyful. Each character presents  a duality that feels real and  unresting, and even secondary characters are multi-dimensional. This partnership has a well of creativity that has no bounds, with a voice that is very clear and strong. Each scene is wonderfully described and leaves the reader with the feeling of being inside a movie.

Oh, let me not forget to talk about all the turns and twists that surprise and awe the reader until the last page of the book.

You may read this book because you love the author's work, you should read this book because is has a very original concept, however you MUST read this book because it's very addictive and fulfilling!

"It was a voice of something ancient and terrible, a roar of a volcano come to life. I AM FIRE. BURN FOR ME"

Mallory's world has crumbled and she doesn't know who she is anymore. She decides to move away from home to go after her past. She may find more that she has bargained for. One rule she has for  her life is to avoid complications and emotional entangles. Boone seems like all that and more. How will she keep away from temptation, when her body is hot-wired to his?

Boone has been running away from his past for the last three years. In fact, he has put his life on hold and has been only surviving one day at time. Hurricane "Molly" doesn't fit into his equation, but his traitorous heart doesn't get the memo. How to keep things simple, when life is so messy?

Finding You it's the perfect romance to read. The love story is beautiful without being corny,  characters are multi-layered without being overly complicated, conflicts are well thought-out without being overly dramatic, and  the climax is intense and breathtaking, without taking your belief in love away.

Ms. Lee knows her craft and does it well. Her plot is clean, with no weak points and perfect cohesively and her characters are easy to love, relate and connect. Ms. Lee's passionate scenes are classy but hot, and her hero is mouth-watering.

You may read Finding You because is romantic and thrilling. You should read Finding You because it will keep you guessing, but it won't crush your hope for love. You must read Finding You if you want to be awed and dazzled.

"I wasn't looking to make a change or venture out of my comfortable life, but finding out that the comfortable life I'd been living was based on lies (...) I decided it was time for a change."
"People change. Life happens and the innocence of young adulthood is marred."

Review: Highland Wolf Pact

Rating: 4.5 stars

Title: Highland Wolf Pact
Series: A Sottish Werewolf Shifter
Author: Selena Kitt
Genre: Historical Paranormal Romance
Heat: 3 stars
Source: ARC provided by the author in exchange of an honest review

Cover: 5 stars
Characters: 5 stars
Plot: 5 stars
Heat: 3 stars
Freshness: 5 stars
Addictiveness: 4 stars
Total: 4.5 stars (21/24)

I would buy Highlland Wolf Pact in any store without even reading the blurb. I find it's cover hot, sexy and classy. I love the play of the black and white and I love at how regal it seems. It's also perfectly fitting for the main character.

This story is captivating and different than anything else I've read before. Ms. Kitt, has taken the world of shifters, a sub-genre that I love to read, and has stamped her own mark into it.

Sybil is an English lady that was raised by her father as if she were a boy. After his death her uncle set up a marriage for her in a strange new place, to a horrible husband. Without thinking it through, she runs away from her fiancee an find a whole new world she could have never imagined.

"There were far more frightening things in the world, she was coming to realize, than what an old women and men told youngsters around the fire to scare them into being good."

This book is a fast-paced thriller that takes the reader into a whole new idea of werewolves and highland warriors. The plot is masterfully created by the author, not letting any loose holes in it. It's not as hot as  Ms. Kitt's books usually are, but the romance is beautifully described and the chemistry between characters is undeniable.

I have enjoyed  this new book immensely, and I'm looking forward to this series. I would recommend this book to any reader that enjoy historical and shifters and like to be surprised once in a while to some fresh new ideas.

"They were wild, untamed, a close-knit pack of warriors, the men strong and protective, the women nearly as strong and just as territorial."
