Rebecca Graham has chosen her prince when she was still a teen. Sadly he has proven to be a toad. Now, five years later, she is the town's healer, has a satisfying life, and has her heart locked inside of her chest. However, none of this prevents her for falling again for the same jerk.  Does she like to suffer? Can she avoid him? Or is destiny telling her they are fated to be together?

Tobias Gibson has been destined from birth to be a bad person. When his grandfather dies, he almost left earth with him. Five years later he has barely manage to survive. Living without proper hygiene, getting drunk all the time, has been his career for these last years. When tragedy hits his family once again, he decides to man-up and help out. What he is not expecting is life's curve ball in the form of his old love Rebecca Graham. Does a man deserves second chances? What about third?

Tobias is the sixth book of a western series that involves a family of eight and the hard life at the 1800's. Haven't read previous books from this series, I believe I have miss some important facts of the family's history, that would definitely have enriched my read.

This book has a well written plot, with good characters and a great setting. Rebecca is a good example of a strong Texan woman that veers away from the standard to create a path for herself. Tobias, I have separated in two. The first-part-of-the-book Tobias, is not one that I like. Is a bit irrational, from my part but, I have a big thing with hygiene and cleanness, and just reading about him living in a shackle, pissing and pooping almost anywhere, was a bit of a turn-off for me. I know the building of this description has a point in the story, but it kept distracting me with out-of-places thoughts. The second-part-of-the-story Tobias, I like. He is a man looking for redemptions, better yet, he is a clean man, proactively going after redemption.

Ms. Lang has catch my interest, and I'm really looking forward to read about Cat and Benji's books. In fact they are very appealing characters. Now, I know I'm going back to reading the previous books of the series, so I can better how the characters evolve through the time.

You may read this book because you've been following this series from the start; you should read this book because you like western romances; but you MUST read this book because you like to see someone break-out of their shell and rebirth!

Review: Crave: Tales of Vampire Romance

Rating: 4 stars

Title: Crave: Tales of Vampire Romance
Author: Marian Tee; Tabitha Conall; A.E. Grace; Alexis Dare; Claudia D. Christian; Selena Kitt; Michelle Fox; Abigail Graham
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Source: ARC provided by author in exchange of an honest review

Crave is a box set with eight stories of vampires. They are all sexy, hot and dangerous. Sometimes they mate with humans, sometimes they find in a different paranormal being their mate. But they are all fierce and passionate.

All of the novellas are well written with cohesive plot, sexy love making and a few craving bites. But what really has  me gushing about this box set, are the characters. Each and every one of them, from all the books, are amazing. They are all so easy to love and connect, that you end up understanding them and really believing them even though this is a paranormal being.

I also love box sets to get hooked with a new-to-me author, sometimes new-to-me series, and this one was no exception. I have added several new series to my TBR and I have joined several new newsletter after reading the set.

You may read this because you enjoy fast-reads; you should read this, because you can't get enough of vampires; but you MUST read this if you would like to experiment with paranormal romances and be awed by all the creativity that is out there!

"Then human beings came along and did something no other animal had done. They dreamed. Daydreams that become stories that became myths.""

***** This is part two of a serial, there is no ending per se. Also this is a mystery serial, I can't say much without spoiling, so I'm not going to say anything about the story.*****

Part two of the serial has cracks at the relationship between characters starting to show, and a cloud of discord appears. Literally everyone has been thrown under the bus, and they are all appearing to be quite the little devils. Not even Charlie is without any blame.

This book continues on the weeks prior to the crime, building up motives so each and everyone might have reason to SNAP!

I have truly enjoyed how the author makes me doubt everybody. Also, every time I believe I know something, Ms. Allison has proven me wrong, which I love!

My one complain here would be that Charlie's personality is starting to annoy me some. She is to passive, and she has a tendency to hide behind the truth. Worst, she is the type that lets others goes into attack-mode when she is clearly in her right to question things. Wake up, Charlie! Grow some balls!

Now the worst of it all... I have finish book two and I still don't have book three to read. I'm ready to cry now, because book two have an amazing ending. You know, the type that makes you pull out your hair wanting to know more!

You may read this book because you have read book one of the series; you should read this book because book one has left you curious enough; but you MUST read this book if you enjoy creatively-written mystery books!

***** This is part 1 of a serial, there is no ending per se. Also, this is a mystery serial, I can't divulge much without spoiling, so the review is going to be brief.*****

Part one of the series explains vaguely about the crime someone committed and then goes back nine weeks, and start telling the story from the first moment Charlie's arrives at New York city.

It mainly introduces the characters, gives a brief outlook at their day-to-day life and starts throwing shadows at almost everybody. Nobody is trustworthy, everybody is suspect of a sort of bad act, even though from the outside it all seems like the perfect life, with the perfect friendship, and the perfect couple.

What I like most about Snapped is that nobody is lily white perfect. Like all of us, they all make mistakes. They feel very real and the story unfolding is very believable. I also enjoy the author's writing style. She has created a very cohesive plot, and smartly has thrown in the hook, and the reader ends up reading it in a frenzy, wanting to know something for real, instead of speculating about everything.

At the end of book one you don't know much, you have lots of questions and you are ready to jump to book two. All to be expected, and very nicely delivered by Ms. Allison.

You may read this because you like short fun reads; you should read this, if you like to solve puzzles; you MUST read this if you would like to embark in a journey of romantic mystery filled with loud laughs!

Review: Karma

Rating: 4.5 stars

Title: Karma
Series: Karma #1
Author: Donna Augustine
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Source: ARC provided by Bewitching Book Tours

Cover: 4 stars
Characters: 5 stars
Plot: 4 stars
Freshness: 5 stars
Addictiveness: 4 stars
Total: (20/24) 4.5 stars

Funny! Different! Unique! Unusual! Karma is nothing like you have ever read before!

A really bad day has put Camilla in a horrible situation. Times like these usually are not for major decisions such as  making deals and signing contracts. When she does that,  she ends up with the worst job ever. Her new place of business:

"This is building is owned by UFU, LLC. If you looked that name up on Google, UFU stands for Units for Use, LLC, but the real name is Unknown Forces of the Universe."
Her new supervisor is annoying, her coworkers are weirdos that dislike her and her partner makes her melt at the same time that freezes her.

"I'd decided this was a very short-term purgatory for making a bad knee jerk reaction when I'd known better. I could handle beachfront purgatory that came with gossip mags and cable."
Karma is a very well written story infused with humor and good laughs.  The idea behind it is amazingly creative and very unique. The plot plays with life's most intense topics in a light, fun way.
"There was something strangely comforting about the Reaper. I guess that was the dichotomy of death. Sometimes is was frightening but every now and then in the right moment in life, it was warm and welcoming.""
Ms. Augustine has got a new fan in me. I don't usually read books outside of the romance genre; even though Karma has a building romantic plot that maybe, will get more space in future books of the series, at this one, is just a whispering promise. It didn't made book less interesting for me.In fact, I've finished this book, wanting to read book two of the series right away.
You may read this because you enjoy urban fantasy; you should read this because you wanted to be awed, you MUST read this if you have a curious mind that enjoys out-of-the-box plots with great laughs thrown in!

"I wasn't sure how much the universe liked me. Was it I'm head over heels for you, or more of a passing fancy without any real commitment? Did I want to find out while Fate was choking the life from me that the universe had found a new favorite?""

Review: Escaping Me

Rating: 4 stars

Title: Escaping Me
Series: Escaping #1
Author: Elizabeth Lee
Genre:  New Adult Contemporary Romance
Source: ARC provided by Wordsmith Publicity

Cover: 4 stars
Characters: 4 stars
Plot: 4.5 stars
Heat: 3 stars
Freshness: 3.5 stars
Addictiveness: 4 stars
Total: 4 stars (17/24)

Whitney has been raised to be the perfect girl, the perfect daughter, the perfect wife. She has tried her best, but even though she has always followed the rules, life is messy and has destroyed her fairy tale. Running away from a bad break-up, she moves for the summer to her mom's farm in a small little town. There she finds more than she has bargained for. Can her messy life still become perfect? Or does she need to learn how to take life as it is?

Cole is running away from his past and the way he used to deal with problems. He wants to be alone, to build a new life on his own, trying to avoid conflicts. When he meets Whitney, he knows she is not for him, and he is sure she is trouble. What he doesn't know is that she might be his salvation. Is life offering him a second chance, or is fate only teasing him?

Escaping Me has a good plot, a great hero, some fun secondary characters and a couple good conflicts thrown in.  I've had trouble connecting with the heroine. She is not a bad character, but she is not my favorite either. She is a bit immature, but has room to grow. Whitney is a work-in-progress. I've liked her much better on the second book of the series.

Ms. Lee creates very believable plots and conflicts that are part of everybody day-to-day life. If you haven't had the same problems, you definitely knows someone that has. Also, I like how her characters are flawed. The are human like us all, and ofter make mistakes, sometimes huge mistakes that changes a life's course.

You may read this book because you enjoy a good read with a lot of emotions swirling around;  you should read this book because you like romances with a dose of reality thrown in; but you MUST read this book, if you believe in second chances and that love may conquer it all!

"That cold, dark organ that used to be my heart still beats strong as I eye the gravel lane that signals my homestretch, only now it beats out of rage instead of love."

Review: Loving The Wild Wolf

Rating: 3.5 stars

Title: Loving The Wild Wolf
Series: Wild Wolves of Montana
Author: Lynn Richards
Genre: Erotic Paranormal Romance
Source: ARC provided by Bewitching Book Tours

Plot: 2.5 stars

Roark  is a bitter, lonely wolf. He lives for his job as the enforcer of the Blue Pine Pack. He has known tragedy, and to avoid further pain, has decided to stay alone. But is he strong enough to fight the mating call of the wolf?

Emma is the bastard child of the alpha of the  Blue Pine Pack. A curvy wolf in a world where everybody is slim and fit, she has been bullied her whole life, starting with her father and sister. Now she is being forced to married, but she has known her true mate for the last six years, and it isn't her husband-to-be. Will she need to run away from her true love, to avoid an unhappy life?

Loving the Wild Wolf is a short, hot novella. It has great characters, that are easy to love and connect with, and good villains that are easy to hate and dislike. The chemistry between characters is undeniable, and it has some good passionate scenes and great passionate thoughts.

The plot is ok, but it has some issues. First the bullying towards Emma is excessive. The author goes to extreme to shows this very important topic. Also the angst of the hero is a bit too much. The tension of the story is lacking, with the conflict/climax moment happening too fast. I felt the story a bit rushed at the end.

I believe this must be a first book of a series, and I will be on the look out for what comes next. Ms. Richards characters are very well created, and she has thrown in some interesting secondary characters that I would love to know more about. I would also enjoy reading more about how Roark and Emma relationship and position on the pack progress.

You may read this book because you enjoy shifters; you should read this book if you are looking for a fun, hot read; you MUST read this book because you like meeting great characters, and you enjoy seeing their growth  during a read!

Charles Tait and Snow Mason are great with finances. Even without a title they are some of the richest men in London. Right now, they are bored with their life. They don't have much else to conquer and they are tired of the old games at whores houses. What they need is the challenge of finding a woman of their own. When business brings Lady Ashcott their way, they know they have found what they are looking for. Sadly, they can be her heroes, but she cannot be their salvation. She is a lady, and they will never be respectable enough for her. Would fate throw her into their path, if there couldn't  be any hope for them?

Lady Julia Ashcott has just become a widow. After doing what is best for her family by marrying an old friend of her father that was forty years older than her, she decides she has paid her due. Now, she will please herself. When once again her father tries to take her power away from her, she looks for help at the hand of the two young gentleman that will set her finances straight. They are offering a lot more, is she daring enough to take it?

Julia's Double Chance is a refreshing take on erotic ménage. It has the good descriptive sex scenes that is usually found on ménage reads, but they have a vintage vibe that has worked perfectly for a historical. The author's choices of  props for the scenes are so creative, that has given me a permanent smile through out the story. It feels like a sexy black and white movie. Classy!

Ms. Ashcroft's characters are very likable and easy to connect. The pace is good and the writing is very well done.

You may read this book because you enjoy ménage reads, you should read this book because you enjoy Georgian's tales, you MUST read this book, because is innovative and refreshing!
