Is it possible to find love in the middle of chaos? Is it possible to hold on to it, when you need stability? What a Rake Wants show us the answer.

Ms. Andersen has created very strong characters within this book. They are easy to connect, relate to, love and understand. Lady Althea is no shrinking violet and Lord Montsimon is strong enough to handle her without suffocating her inner strength.

Even though the plot is not very original, the author writes  very well and takes the reader into a journey along with the characters. I particularly enjoy the fact the couple became friends first and evolved their relationship into love in a smooth, unhurried way.

This book is the third of a series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. I haven't read the other books, but I don't believe I have missed any important fact because of it. I am looking forward to reading both previous books now, because I have enjoy this one, and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

What a Rakes Wants is regency romance, with a bit of love, deceptions, murders and rakes involved. I would recommend this book to all readers that like historical romances with strong characters, and a bit of mystery involved.

  1. So hard to find a truly original one these days but if it's well written I'm really okay with that :) Thanks for the intro!
